COVID Vaccination

Many patients and caregivers have asked me whether to immunize their residents, loved ones, and/or even themselves. As a healthcare provider, I am an advocate for the COVID vaccine because it provides protection and immunity to those most vulnerable. I have received the vaccine myself and can absolutely speak from personal and professional experience that the side effects do not outweigh the risks of contracting the disease. The research on the Moderna vaccine demonstrated a 94.1% efficacy rate among 30,000 participants aged 18-65 years old and the Pfizer vaccine demonstrated a 95% efficacy rate among over 43,000 adult participants at demonstrating an immune response to COVID-19 (CDC, 2020; 2021). I encourage my patients and their caregivers to educate themselves on the evidence-based research that is widely available, rather than just seeking the opinion of others. For more information, the CDC has published extensive information on the COVID vaccine. I also encourage you to seek out the Washington Department of Health for information on where to get vaccinated. Stay safe everyone and continue to practice social distancing and wear your mask.
